What's New at Jones Consulting
March
2012. In March we were active on OMB files in the
Town of Wasaga Beach, The Township of Tiny, and the Township of
Southgate. We have been retained by The Township of Georgian Bay to
represent them in Board Hearings in April.
February 2012. We have
submitted applications to permit a 28 unit residential development in the
City of Orillia , a 269 unit development on Ferndale Drive in the City of
Barrie , a 413 unit medium and high density development on Essa Road in the
City of Barrie . In addition we have been retained to review a high density
development proposal on Yonge Street in Newmarket, to work on a 35 acre
property in the Ardagh Planning Area of Barrie and to work on a commercial site
on Anne Street in Barrie.
We are
Pleased to Announce A New Planner has Joined our Team. Lorelie Spencer, MCIP, RPP, joined our firm on January 17th as
a Senior Planner. Lorelie previously worked for the Municipality of Grey
Highlands and prior to that, The Town of The Blue
Mountains.
Community
Involvement. In
December the Jones Consulting Engineering Department were proud to
participate in the CPR Holiday Train event in Vaughan and the local fund
raiser for their Food Bank.
Client
Survey
In December we sent out our semi-annual client
survey as part of our commitment to quality assurance and continual
improvement. The Jones Consulting Group values the comments from our clients
and we want to thank everyone who returned their survey. Each client who
returned their survey with a business card was entered into a draw and we were
pleased to provide the winner, Brian Lynch of Lynch Homes with a $50.00 Keg
gift certificate.
Seasons Greetings and Thanks for a Great Year
On December 1, 2011 The Jones Consulting Group held a cocktail
Party to thank our many clients for a great year. The event was held at the
Flying Monkey Brewery in Barrie and we were very pleased with the
turnout. A good time was had by all.
Hosted Open House
In December we hosted an Open House for a proposed
residential development located at 10 & 20 Little Lake Drive,
Barrie.
Preparation for the Metis,
Leamington and Kingsville
In November, The Jones Consulting Group prepared a
land use training module for the Metis Nation of Ontario, prepared the first
draft of the Leamington Community Improvement Plan and prepared an analysis of
Industrial / Commercial Zones for the Town of
Kingsville.
Fall Prevention
Training
Two of our field staff have been trained in Fall
Prevention as required under Section 26, Ontario Regulation
213/91.
Potentially Barrie's first
Suburban mixed use development
In August, The Jones Consulting Group submitted an
application on behalf of Fernbrook Developments proposing Barrie's first
suburban mixed use development. The project includes ground floor commercial
and two storeys of residences above.
2011 Planning Excellence
Award
Brandi L. Clement, Partner has won a member service
award for the 2011 Planning Excellence service awards through the Ontario
Professional Planners Institute.
September 2011 - Little
Lake Seniors Community The Jones Consulting Group
is working on the Little Lake Seniors Community as a proposed
multi-faceted development offering our aging population state of the art living
environments focused on healthy, active lifestyles. The completed
development will offer Seniors completely independent living in both ownership
and rental housing tenure, as well as varying levels of supervised
living. The development will feature common space areas for activities
and entertainment, as well as medical offices and associated services offering
residents specialized care and healthy living assistance. Through a
future association with the Local Hospital, the Little Lake Seniors Community
will provide care and accommodation for those convalescing or recuperating from

August 2011
We have provided a planning opinion to the Town of
Kingsville regarding zoning conformity for an energy from waste
facility.We completed a consolidation of the
Municipality of Grey Highlands Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
June 2011 - The West
Lakefront Hotel and Residence We have been
retained to provide planning services for The West lakefront hotel and
residences on Dunlop Street East.
March 2011 - Municipality
of Leamington We have been retained by the
Municipality of Leamington to prepare a Community Improvement Plan. |
