Street Light Conversion
The City of Barrie is currently undergoing a project to replace all 11,000 existing street lights with LED?s. The streetlight conversion project begun on July 13th and is projected to be completed by October 30th, 2015. The project will be conducted in four phases corresponding to designated zones within the City. Within each zone, the oldest streetlights will be priority to replace in order to avoid older lights from malfunctioning. The savings on energy and maintenance costs for the City will reinforce the cost effectiveness of the streetlight conversion project.
