Senior Engineering Designer
Pay: $90k - $110k
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: Remote, Hybrid or In-Office (Barrie, ON L4N 0W5)
Hours of work:
- Typical full-time work week, with occasional evening and weekend meetings as required on a project-by-project basis.
Education & Professional Qualifications:
- A post-secondary education in the field of civil engineering or architectural design from recognized Community College level or higher.
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience using AutoCAD / Civil3D in a civil engineering environment or related discipline.

- Familiar with plotting and printing equipment
General Duties:
- Responsible for the transfer of job data (digital or hard copy) received AutoCAD / Civil 3D drawing format.
- Responsible for the creation and development of AutoCAD / Civil 3D drawings required for subdivision designs, site plans, plot plans, storm water management facilities, master servicing reports and functional servicing reports etc.
- Maintain information given and created in a proper file format.
- Responsible for creating drawings which are accurate, legible and in a format consistent with The Jones Consulting Group standards, i.e. layering, text styles, filing etc.
- Providing updates to management staff as to current project status as required.
- Perform design calculations involved with lot grading plans, subdivision designs, and storm design computations as directed by management staff.
- Mentor less experienced staff in applicable tasks/duties.
- As a representative of the Jones Consulting Group Ltd., conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with all staff, the public, agency staff, contractors and clients.
- Responsible for staying current with all applicable municipal standards and software necessary for performing drafting and design functions.
- Understand and adhere to the corporate policies and procedures.
